Candle Llight Dinner

Thinking about having a romantic different candle light dinner? Then kokocandles could help. This shop is full of interesting, different, funny candles that you simply won't find everywhere. Don't worry, the candles don't actually smell like cheese and poo. ;) Also, you don't have to wait for the perfect candle light dinner to light these creations. If prince or princess charming isn't around, get one of these lovelies for yourself and decorate your home differently. ;)

How I fell in love with minimalism

This summer, my husband and I went to NYC. We had never been to the city and searched for a cheap place to stay. "Cheap and NYC?", you say? Oxymoron, he? Oh well, I beg to differ. We found the most amazing place through Airbnb. For those of you who don't know the site, check it out. You can inexpensively find a room that somebody rents. Of course, a somehow necessary condition is that you are outgoing and like to take risks. ;)

Anyway, those are two of the photos we saw on aribnb.

Bedroom
Kitchen

Now let me tell you. This has been one of the most beautiful experiences ever. I have never thought of living without any clutter. No table, no chairs (cushions on the floor), no nothing. When we first entered the apartment (the guy gave us his keys at Penn Station), we joked around. We couldn't believe somebody was living there. And the minimalism almost doesn't show through the photos because you see something. But imagine the rest of each of those rooms EMPTY.

After staying at this place for five days, we said that we would love to live like this as well. Maybe not to such an extreme (I really enjoy typing those lines from my laptop seated on my table)...but moderately. In another post I will explain what my idea of moderate minimalism is. :)

PS: We paid $275.00 for five nights...for the two of us...in NYC...
